So this week was much better than last week. We had much more success
and met some really awesome people. Also we had a baptism! Cintia was
baptized yesterday after church. She's awesome. She's really intelligent
and she's only 16. It's rediculous. She has a passion for learning.
Especially for learning the things of God through the scriptures. It's
awesome. Also this week we got lots to do and lots to learn and stuff
because me and my comp stayed together here in the same area. So as I
said lots to do and lots to learn. I'm excited for this next week and
for this next transfer.
Elder Bender
O.k. Elder Bender, this is your auntie again. I read your posts and think to myself, yes, he is still growing, still learning, still seeking insight into life, and relationships, as I know you always will. It is all part of the journey and you have a good head start on it with this experience, which is so valuable, and amazing. I am certain you get how great this is, even if it really sucks at times being so far from home and everything familiar. I'm hoping that you will not be so much disappointed at not recruiting a new member for the church, as you were grateful that you had the opportunity to meet them, to have been a part of their life for however long they were in it. Undoubtedly, you will have enriched their lives too, even if they chose not to follow what you believe. I think about how little I know of you not having been around you much while you grew up, but I know my brother and I think you are my brothers son, which is another way of saying, you're a lot like him. I sometimes think about you so far away in that country I am not familiar with and a little envy crops up because it's an adventure, it's a gift, it's exciting, even if it's not glamorous or relaxing, or full of fun things to do. I think my experience living in Turkey has always left me wanting more, so I get to live vicariously through your updates and your descriptions of what it's like there, which I love and try not to miss. But thanks to your sister, I am kept in the loop, so I know when you've posted. I look forward to the next one. I love your awesome Portugese dictionary! That's really great. How much Port do you speak now? Stay safe. Pray for us back home too.
